Instructions

Office 2007/2003

1. Before you begin, please review the informational Office 2007 web page. This will help you decide whether to upgrade to Office 2003 or Office 2007.
2. When you are ready to install, close all applications, disable any 3rd party firewall software (other than the Windows XP firewall), and click the appropriate link above to the install or upgrade to Office 2007/2003.
3. Note: This update program will not run on Windows 95, 98, or NT. If you have one of these operating systems installed, the program will quit.
4. Click Yes, if prompted via pop up window.
5. When prompted, type in your NetID and password to authenticate.
6. Click Run.
7. Wait as Office 2007/2003 is installed on your computer. This could take up to 45 minutes.
8. Reboot your computer when the installation or upgrade is complete.
9. You may run any further updates for Office 2007/2003 at the Microsoft Office Update website.

Macintosh Office 2008

1. See the Office 2008 install walkthrough for step-step instructions.
2. Make sure that your Mac meets the minimum system requirements for the software.
3. Be aware that Office 2008 for Mac cannot run Visual Basic macros or load add-ins that contain Visual Basic macros.
4. Turn off virus-protection software, and quit any applications that are running.
5. Back up any existing Entourage identity folders from: /Users/username/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office Identities
6. Remove any Dock icons for Office applications.

Macintosh Office 2004

1. See the Office:Mac installation walkthrough for step-step instructions on how the installation proceeds.
2. Backup all copies of custom Office templates you may have created before beginning the Office install. These are stored in the following folder: /Applications/Microsoft Office/Templates/My Templates.
